KVFS 2021-2022 Plan
for COVID-19 Mitigation & Response
Revised at Leadership Team Meeting per updated guidance/mandates 3-9-2022
Overall Goal: Prioritize health and safety of KVFS students and staff.
Masking: The Kickapoo Valley Forest School will encourage masks indoors. KVFS acknowledges that for many of its students, vaccination is not available. Staff will not be monitoring student use. Masks will still be available to borrow.
As an outdoor school we will learn, eat and rest outside most days. When students are outside, masks are not required.
Health & Hygiene: Students and staff are encouraged to self-screen for symptoms at home. Those experiencing symptoms may be directed to seek out testing for COVID-19. Testing is available through LFSD.
Illness, Contact Tracing, and Quarantine Protocols: The school nurse will work with local public health officials to determine quarantine and other health and safety procedures related to COVID-19.
All plans are subject to change based on CDC, DHS, and Vernon County Department of Health guidance.
